Course Suggestions:
The Habit of Drawing:
Combine drawing techniques and journaling to get your group started on developing the habit of drawing -- a the core of becoming an artist. Depending on the season, we meet indoors and/or at different locations to draw and do written observations to sharpen your observational skills. Light watercolor may be included. Great for travel sketching, garden sketching, and learning how to center yourself to move into the artist within you.

Design and Composition:
4-5 sessions focusing on different aspects of design. This will help you to move past copying photos to designing your own paintings. No matter your skill level, improving your sense of design and awareness of compositional choices will make you a better artist. You aren't painting YOUR paintings until you are designing them too.
Color in Watercolor:
a 4-5 day focus on color; the most challenging aspect of watercolor... it could be a 20 day class!! In the week-long class, you look at some of the most imp ortant issues in both designing with color and choosing and using your pigments most effectively. You can chose from the value of color, color in sunlight and shadow, layering your colors, the power of color in a whisper, and the expressive characteristics of color.
Watercolor Basics:
Even if you have been painting a while, it never hurts to focus on the basic techniques of watercolor. Caroline has years of success in teaching the basic processes. A good way to combine a group of beginners and people who consider themselves intermediate. 2-4 days
The Best of Caroline:
Five days, five very different subjects which are the ones -- over the years -- Caroline has seen effect the greatest change, the most "ah-ha" moments with her students. These include -- i) from value to color; ii) mastering wet-on-wet, iii) saving whites, iv) layering color without making mud
The Color of Sunlight + Organizing a Painting from the Chaos Before You:
As an on-location course of study for plein air; two or more days
